Bridge art and engineering by optimizing game assets and creating tools for our art pipeline
About the role
As a Technical Artist, you'll be the crucial link between our art and engineering teams. You'll optimize visual content for performance, create shaders and visual effects, and develop tools that improve our art production pipeline.
This role requires both artistic sensibility and technical expertise, ensuring our games look stunning while performing flawlessly across all platforms.
Responsibilities
- Optimize art assets for web and mobile performance
- Create shaders and visual effects using WebGL/GLSL
- Develop tools and scripts to improve art workflow
- Implement particle systems and special effects
- Work with artists to establish best practices
- Profile and improve rendering performance
- Create technical documentation for art pipeline
- Solve complex visual and technical challenges
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as technical artist in games
- Strong knowledge of WebGL, GLSL, and rendering pipelines
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience with PixiJS or similar game frameworks
- Understanding of 2D/3D graphics and optimization
- Familiarity with art creation tools (Photoshop, Spine, etc.)
- Python or other scripting languages for tool development
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
